In Prison—Again

It may have been the best prison event Joshua’s Way has sponsored. It was a cool, beautiful Saturday afternoon and evening. The bands were awesome: Consuming Fire and Big Blue Planet.  The food—catered by Mutt’s BBQ—was plentiful and eagerly devoured. The gospel presentation by Heath Hicks was engaging and soul-penetrating. The closing song by Kim Johnson captivated the inmates. Throughout the event, the inmates—about 100 of them—were attentive, engaged, responsive, and appreciative. Each inmate received a care package filled with toiletries and other items. Many thanks to those who volunteered and assisted us. The photos give you some glimpses of  our time at the Pickens County Prison.

Inmate Ministry Fall 2009

In November, Joshua's Way entertained and served about 100 inmates in the Pickens County Prison.  We provided Mutt's BBQ-which the inmates love.  Kim Johnson, Liz Harvey, and Ruth Taylor sang and played some good old "mountain" music and hymns.  Barry Templeton shared his own story and the gospel with the inmates. Every inmate received reading material related to the Christian faith.
